How to choose a facial

Rewind Bar offers four facials. Book a HydraFacial for a deep cleanse and hydration with no downtime. Book a signature facial when you want one done by hand and chosen for your skin. Book an Aqua Facial for a device facial with serums picked for your concern. Book a VI Peel when you can spare a week of peeling for a deeper reset.

The four facials at a glance

Every cell below comes from that treatment’s own page. Where the page leaves a number to your provider, so does this table.

Rewind Bar’s four facials compared by what each is best for, what it involves, session time, downtime, and how often

Start from your skin goal

  • Dull, tired, or dehydrated skin

The quickest lift is a HydraFacial: serums go in while the pores are clean, and skin looks brighter the same afternoon. The brightening signature facial does it by hand, with vitamin C and a gentle retinol peel, and the Aqua Facial infuses hyaluronic acid, collagen, and elastin. More on this in dull skin.

  • Congested or acne-prone skin

For clogged pores and oil, the acne signature facial pairs extractions with a purifying masque, and HydraFacial lifts debris out with suction instead of squeezing. For active breakouts that keep coming back, the VI Peel’s Purify formula is built for oily, acne-prone skin, from teens up. See how they fit together on acne.

  • Sensitive skin that reacts

Start gentle. The sensitive skin facial is built around calming, HydraFacial skips scrubs and manual extractions, and the Aqua Facial cleanses without disturbing the moisture barrier, then cools. None of them treats rosacea; redness that stays put deserves a dermatologist’s diagnosis. Read more on sensitive skin.

  • Texture, uneven tone, and fine lines

When skincare has plateaued, a VI Peel goes further than a facial: Precision Plus for sun spots and the marks breakouts leave, Original and Advanced for texture and fine lines, on every skin tone. Plan for the week of peeling. If you would rather have no downtime, the Aqua Facial’s vitamin C and firming peptide serums and the rejuvenating signature facial are the gentler routes.

When a facial is not the right tool

Facials work on the surface of the skin: cleansing, exfoliating, hydrating, calming. Acne scarring, deeper texture, and lost firmness sit below where a facial reaches, and a monthly facial will not change them however good it is.

For those, the conversation moves to RF microneedling, laser resurfacing, or PRP microneedling. Each page sets out what the treatment involves and the recovery it asks of you. A VI Peel can sit alongside microneedling for acne scarring.

If that is what your skin needs, your provider will say so at the consultation rather than book you a facial that will not get you there.

What to ask at your consultation

Every first visit starts with a free 45-minute consultation. Come with these answered and the choice usually makes itself.

  1. What has my skin reacted to before?

Products, past facials, peels, heat. It decides how gentle the first visit should be.

  2. What am I using at home right now?

Bring your products; retinol and exfoliating acids matter, especially before a peel.

  3. Is anything coming up on my calendar?

A wedding or a trip next week points to a no-downtime facial, not a VI Peel.

  4. How much downtime can I take?

None, a few hours of pinkness, or a week of peeling: each facial sits somewhere on that line.

  5. How will I pay for a series?

Cost is quoted at the consultation, and payment plans are available through our financing partner.

Frequently asked questions

Which facial is best for sensitive skin?

Usually a signature sensitive skin facial, a HydraFacial, or an Aqua Facial, each adjusted for skin that reacts. The sensitive skin facial is done by hand with a calming mask and ice globes, HydraFacial uses no scrubs and no manual extractions, and the Aqua Facial closes on a cooling step made to relieve sensitivity. These facials can be adjusted for rosacea or eczema but do not treat either, and if a flare is active your provider may ask you to let it settle first.

I have never had a facial. Which one should I book first?

You do not have to decide before you come in. Every first visit starts with a free consultation and a close look at your skin, and your provider suggests the facial that fits. If you want no downtime, a HydraFacial or a signature facial is a gentle first step; a VI Peel is better saved for when you can plan around a week of peeling.

Can I combine a facial with a peel?

Some of it is built in: the brightening signature facial finishes with a mild retinol peel. A VI Peel is a separate treatment with its own week of peeling, and the VI Peel aftercare asks you to set aside retinol and exfoliating products for a few days afterward. Your provider sets the order and the spacing at the consultation.

How often should I get a facial?

It depends on the facial. Most people who make HydraFacial routine come in about once a month, signature facials suit every four to six weeks, and your provider sets an Aqua Facial schedule for your skin. VI Peels in a series are spaced four to six weeks apart, then once or twice a year to maintain the result.
