The answer for skin that has started to slacken along the jaw, under the chin, and on the neck: radiofrequency heat below the surface tightens the collagen you have and builds more, in 30-minute sessions.
Explore RF MicroneedlingThe jawline is softer than it was, the skin under the chin has started to give, and nothing in a jar has changed it. Firmness lives in the collagen under the surface, and that is where these treatments work.

Skin holds its shape because of the collagen and elastin underneath it. As the years go on, the skin makes less of both and what is there loosens, so the jawline blurs, the skin under the chin starts to give, and the neck and the outer corners of the eyes go crepey. It tends to arrive gradually and then, in one photo, all at once.
Creams cannot reach the layer where this happens. The change you are after is in the structure of the skin, and the treatments that work on it all do the same fundamental thing: deliver a controlled injury or controlled heat into the dermis so the skin answers with new collagen. RF microneedling does it with radiofrequency through fine needles. Laser resurfacing does it with a 1540 nm laser that leaves the surface intact. PRP microneedling does it with needling alone, strengthened by your own plasma.
None of this is surgery, and none of it pretends to be. The goal is skin that holds its shape better and a jawline that reads the way it used to, so you look like yourself on a good day, not lifted and not done.
Where the skin has loosened, and how far, decides which of the three you need. At the consultation your provider looks at your skin and how much change you are after, gives you one plan before anything is scheduled, and if we do not think a treatment will get you there, we will say so.
Skin that has started to fall rather than thin, where firmness goes first. This points to RF microneedling, which tightens the collagen already there and builds more, often paired with the laser in the same plan.
Laxity alongside sun damage, uneven tone, or texture. This points to laser resurfacing, which heats the dermis at a controlled depth with the surface intact, and is frequently combined with RF microneedling for laxity.
Crepey skin and fine lines before anything has truly fallen. This points to PRP microneedling, the gentler series, which builds collagen and elastin with nothing added but what your body makes.

RF microneedling is the treatment built for this. Rewind treats with the Secret DUO by Cutera, which delivers radiofrequency energy through gold-plated microneedles into the dermis, below where many devices can reach. The heat tightens the collagen fibers already there and triggers new collagen and elastin, which is what firms the skin along the jaw, under the chin, and on the neck over the months that follow. Two tips, 25-pin and 64-pin, cover small and large areas, and the needle depth adjusts from 0.5 mm to 3.5 mm, so thin skin near the eyes and the broader neck are treated differently.
Laser resurfacing is the other half of the same device. Its 1540 nm laser delivers heat into the dermis at a depth your provider sets, and the surface of the skin is left intact: no peeling, no open skin, no week indoors. Where skin has started to loosen along the jaw, under the chin, and around the eyes, the heat tightens what is there and stimulates more, so the skin holds its shape better. Because the wavelength is absorbed by water rather than pigment, it is used on deeper skin tones where more aggressive lasers are not.
PRP microneedling works without heat. Fine needles make controlled channels, and your own platelet-rich plasma, prepared from a small blood draw, is applied over them, so its growth factors go exactly where the healing is happening. The skin responds with new collagen and elastin that plumps it and softens fine lines. It is the treatment for skin that has lost plumpness rather than fallen.

RF microneedling asks the least of your calendar. About 15 minutes of numbing, about 30 minutes of treatment, a mild heating sensation and light pressure, and little to no downtime. The usual course is three to four treatments, four to six weeks apart. Most people start to see a change after the second, and the best result appears about three months after the last one, because the collagen keeps building for months. Results from a full series are generally expected to hold for 12 to 18 months or longer, since new collagen is a change in the skin itself, not a product that wears off.
Laser resurfacing runs on the same numbers, with redness and warmth for the rest of the day and sunscreen every day from then on. It is usually a short series, spaced a few weeks apart, and your provider gives you a number at the consultation rather than a standard package. When the skin has loosened, both halves of the Secret DUO in one visit is a common pairing. PRP microneedling runs 30 to 45 minutes after a blood draw and numbing, brings a few red days, and is a series of at least three. It plumps rather than tightens, and if your skin needs more than needling alone can give, your provider will suggest RF microneedling instead.
The right pick depends on how far the skin has gone and how much change you want, and that is not something to decide from a page. The consultation is where your provider looks at your jaw, your neck, and your skin tone, then matches the plan to your downtime and your calendar. You are greeted by name, seen on schedule, and treatment can begin the same day. If a treatment is not going to get you the result you want, we will say so.
Listed in the order we most often recommend them. Your consultation decides which actually fits your skin, your goals, and your downtime.
