Curious what
full body involves?
Book a free consultationWhat does
full body cover?
Full body means the major areas treated as one plan: legs, arms, underarms, bikini, back, chest, and abdomen. Instead of adding one zone at a time and juggling separate schedules, everything progresses together, on the same visit, every four to six weeks.
The treatment itself is the same laser hair removal we do anywhere: light absorbed by the pigment in each hair, turned to heat, disabling the follicle. What changes at full-body scale is the planning. Hair on different areas cycles at different rates, hormonally driven zones like the underarms and bikini can need a couple more sessions than the arms or legs, and your provider paces the plan around that.
Expect roughly six to twelve months from first visit to last, with a noticeable difference by the third or fourth session. After the series, most people book a maintenance session once or twice a year for the follicles that hormones wake later.
Every skin tone, Fitzpatrick I through VI, is treated on the same device. If some of your hair is too light for the laser to find, your provider will say so at the consultation.
Every area moves together, so you are not tracking separate courses for legs, underarms, and bikini. One visit every four to six weeks carries the whole plan forward.
The Nd:YAG wavelength on the Cynosure Elite IQ passes the surface pigment and targets the follicle, which is what lets it treat Fitzpatrick IV to VI, the tones laser has long underserved.
Coarse, dark hair on the legs and arms responds most readily. Hormonal zones like the face, underarms, and bikini can take eight to ten sessions instead of six, and the plan allows for it.
Spaced four to six weeks apart, roughly six to twelve months in all, then an occasional maintenance session once or twice a year.
When it is not one area that bothers you but all of them, treat all of them at once.
Whether full body is right for you, or whether a few areas would do, is something we decide together at the consultation. Your provider looks at your hair and your skin and tells you plainly, including which zones will take longest.
You shave more than one area
Legs today, underarms tomorrow, bikini before the weekend. One plan replaces the rotation with a visit every four to six weeks.
Your hair is dark and coarse
The laser targets pigment, so thick, dark hair responds most readily and most completely. Light or fine hair may not, and we will tell you.
Your skin is medium to deep
The Nd:YAG wavelength on our device was built for Fitzpatrick IV to VI, the tones many lasers can’t treat.
You’d rather commit once
Six to eight visits over six to twelve months, and the follicles stop producing hair. Then an occasional maintenance session and nothing else to plan around.
Every area, paced by how it grows.
Hair on each part of the body cycles at its own rate, and the follicles that respond most readily are the coarse, dark ones. A full body plan treats every area in the same visit and expects some to finish before others.

Whatto expect.
A full body plan is priced as a plan, by the areas included and the number of sessions, so you get one clear number at the consultation, before anything is scheduled. Payment plans through Cherry are available.
A full body visit covers every area in one appointment, so plan for the longest session we do. The exact length depends on which areas are included and how coarse the hair is; your provider gives you a realistic time at the consultation.
Most people describe each pulse as a warm flick of a rubber band. Sensitive zones like the bikini area feel it more, but the handpiece moves quickly. If an area gets uncomfortable, your provider adjusts the settings without losing effectiveness.
A cooling gel goes on right after your session and you leave with written aftercare. Expect some redness and warmth for a few hours. Skip hot showers, hard workouts, and tight clothing for a day, and keep treated skin out of the sun.
Treated hair sheds over the one to three weeks after each session, and what grows back comes in thinner, lighter, and sparser. Most people see a significant difference by session three or four and complete the series in six to eight.
Frequently asked questions
How many sessions does full body take?
Most people complete their series in six to eight sessions, spaced four to six weeks apart, which works out to roughly six to twelve months from first visit to last. Hair thickness, density, color, and skin tone all move that number, and hormonally driven areas like the face, underarms, and bikini can need eight to ten. Your provider gives you a realistic plan at the consultation, not a standard package.
What areas are included?
A full body plan covers the major areas: legs, arms, underarms, bikini, back, chest, and abdomen. The face and the boundary of the bikini area are decided with you at the consultation, because they are the zones people most often want treated differently from the rest.
How soon will I see results?
Most people notice a reduction after the first session, once the treated hair sheds over the following one to three weeks. By the third or fourth session the difference is usually significant, with regrowth coming in thinner, lighter, and sparser. The full result develops over the complete series.
What happens if I miss or reschedule a session?
Missing a session will not undo your progress, but it can stretch the timeline. The laser only affects follicles in their active growth phase, so keeping a consistent four to six week spacing catches the most hair each visit. If you need to move an appointment, let us know promptly and we will find the next slot.
Can I tan or use self-tanner during my course?
No. Both a natural tan and self-tanner raise the pigment in your skin, which raises the chance of a burn or a dark mark. Stay out of the sun and off self-tanner for the length of your plan, and wear SPF 30 or higher between sessions.
Will it work on blonde, gray, or red hair?
The laser targets the pigment in the hair, so dark hair responds best. Blonde, gray, red, and white hair carry little pigment and respond poorly or not at all. If that describes some of your hair, your provider will tell you at the consultation so you know what to expect in those areas.
What if I become pregnant during treatment?
We recommend pausing laser sessions during pregnancy as a precaution. Your course can resume after delivery and once breastfeeding has concluded, picking up where you left off.
Is it safe for darker skin?
Yes. The Cynosure Elite IQ carries an Nd:YAG wavelength that passes the surface pigment and targets the follicle underneath, which is what lets it treat Fitzpatrick IV to VI. Your provider chooses the settings for your skin at the consultation, not a default.
